Week 3 Power Rankings

When I was little, my father was famous...

A bloody week in the fantasy world as we get our first top, middle and bottom separation. 5 above .500, 7 below. 3 undefeated and two winless.  Bye weeks are open war on the wire and everybody needs something. Some teams have dead spots just waiting for improvement and some are carrying hobbled veterans on future hopes.   Who wins the bye weeks wins the season, we always say. 

1.  (2)  Phat Girlz - (3-0) Bulking up for the bye weeks the Girlz stuck a third straight win to the wall in week 3 against ailing Polk High.  Luck at QB1 is a big part of it, right now he's #1 with a bullet at 80 pts on the season (33 this week).  Not every week is a highlight reel like J-ville's secondary, but he's more than capable at the helm. Hilton and Rudolph injuries could be minor downgrades but the Girlz are plus at multiple skill positions. 

2. (1) TakingTigerMountain  (3-0) - The Mountaineers climbed all the way back into a near week 3 upset courtesy of huge games from Antonio Brown and the Chicago D. Without AP they're decidedly lacking in ground game. CJ?k and a pair of third down passing backs aren't going to cut it.  Holding onto Ingram and AP through the bye weeks will be tough.  

3. (3) Aethernauts - (3-0) The Nauts stayed undefeated but suspended in place on Cam's hobbling around the field. There's a lot to go on here, but they need Cam to be at least QB2 level to reach the upper aether. His upside is too high to bench unless definitively injured

4. (4)  SanFranciscoFerries (2-1)- The Ferries coasted on low triple digits and lucked out not to get scooped up by the Pelicans.  Stafford and Lacy both foundered in a drill-holes-in-your-skull boring game in Detroit.  Wilson outplayed Stafford on the bench for the second straight week, stoking the 2nd year of QB controversy. 

5.  (5) BuildingDwellingThinking  (2-1)- BDT won the battle of the Cowboys game with a Romo-Bryant hook-up helped America's Team to victory, but they lost in week 3 war as no other player found the endzone.   As long as Dallas is run-heavy BDT's double titration is going to be sporadic.  They'll try and cobble together injury-starters like Robinson and Brown and think their way out of this one. 

6.  (7) Old Future (1-2)  - the Futurists put up a good show, eclipsing triple digits as Peyton added another data point on his crazy statistical outlier comeback QB status.  Knile did a pretty good Charles impression and should be a worthy handcuff if he misses any more time.  It's going to be a trick picking between F-Jax and Spiller week-to-week - they might save themselves the trouble and trade one for some WR depth. Going sans-DB this week was a ballsy move, designed to keep the maximum RBs (currently 7 in house) - it'll be interesting to see their roster come the bye weeks.

7. (6)  Trichs  (0-3) - The Shogun had a trademarked Monday Night hair-pulling session when they had reason to fear that Cutler might carve up their playoff hopes.  Maclin and the Keepernick kept them in this one after a woeful ground game where Shady got his bell rung, then came back but might as well have stayed away (averaging just over a 1 YPC) and Rainey played fumble football in the Bucs sideshow.  The Muscle Hamster could be back to prop up the regime in week 4. 

8. (9)  Polk High Panthers (1-2) - Polk got dropped by the bigger, badder Girlz this week, but without Charles that was near to a foregone conclusion. If Tannehill gets RL benched, then that should solve the Bundies QB battle for itself.  AJ gets an early by week to rest his toe, hopefully Jamaal hasn't punched anybody on video and the Pathers should be ready to revive their former glory in the by weeks.  

9. (8)  Pelican Brief (0-3)-  The Legal Thrillers were again the victims again in week 3, clipped by the Ferries to fall into the dreaded 0-3 hole approaching byes.  JGPG has yet to break 100 and despite lower scores across the board this season, they're headed to the bottom of the docket.  Lynch and Julio were b345tly yet again, but now Woodhead is gone for the season the Dirty Birds will have to go to the wire for fresh legs. Unless Brady can get his downfield game going, the Grishamites will be mid-range opportunists.

10. (11)  Homespun Neckbloodz (1-2) - The Cylcotron took some self-respect out of a split with Col , Mustard following a painful week 2 upset. Foles had his best game on a hot cycle, Nio-Gio turned in his third straight double digit, nagging injury news for V-Jax might at least cure the Bloodz of inflated expectations.   Bye weeks come just in time, there's room on the roster for the Bloodz to steal some quality depth.

11. (10)  Dijonaise All Stars (1-2)   - Nothing gets the rankings goat more than playing high profile inactive players - Roddy and Arian fit the bill.   The Mustard Men may not have had the guns on their bench to get a sweep from the Bloods, but as it stands they punted on second down. 

12. (12) Shock_Pix  (1-2) - Shock the world! The Shockers picked up their first win since week 5 2012. The Feely-kicker protest is still in place, but the Primordial ones quietly bumped Hill into a starting role where he found the endzone, the difference in this game. If the legacy Commish is truly off auto-pilot all bets are off, but the ratings will take it with a grain of salt for now.

Week 10 saw a crazy Tight End Battle in the NFC South lead two Eleatic squads to victory.  Jimmer and Gonzales had a TE pissing match and topped the Dangles and Girlz scoring sheets respectively with 2 TDs and +100 yards each.  It was also the week of the QB concussion, with Vick and Cutler both getting knocked out and capping their squads ceilings too low for comfort.  With the end now in sight it looks like  the competitors will need to secure 8 wins to be sure of a spot (although there are several unlikely scenarios in which a 8-5 record won't put a team in the top 6) .  Right now we've still got 6 teams above .500 occupying the 6 playoff spots.  But three teams at 5-5 are only 1 game out.  A sweep of the final three would likely wedge any of them into that 6 spot.   But no team has actually punched their ticket to the dance yet, even the mighty Bloodz, winners of 7 straight could drop int to the 7 spot if they lost all three remaining.  The trade deadline is November 16.  With the reelection of Obama, the survival of Commisioner-care dynasty keeper plan (in some form) is inevitable.  The form it will take (number of keepers, luxury taxes, draft cash distribution, etc) is still numinous.  But all owners should be mindful in their drops and trades with an eye to next year.  It's the last by week.. It's in-division play.  It's a race to the finish.



1.) HomeSpunNeckBloodz (last week 1)   8-2
-The Spinners wound out another win in week 10 for their seventh straight.  The Bloodz overcame a miscue leaving Hernandez in the game despite his game time status (thanks rotoworld).  Another big week from CJ?K led the way in a lil-bit-o-everything attack.  Game ball goes to the Broncos D for their mauling of Carolina to the tune of 7 sacks and 20 pts.  The double Tampa WR set looked pedestrian with a combined 11.  Harvin is a big part of the Cyclotron's strategy and they'll be anxious to check his practice status this week.  Forte got stuffed on a weird and wacky weather game vs. Houston and the Bloodz just broke triple digits.  They looked human in this one, but you got to win those too if you're going to march to the #1 seed. The Bloodz get three Eleatic contenders, the Nauts, Girlz and Dangles. Since TTM holds an in-division edge - they need to run the table in order to ensure the bye and top seed in the playoffs.

Next week -AEthernauts- the Bloodz take on a playoff legacy in the always tough Aerial Explorers.  It's back to defend the Eleatic with zero margin for error.  The Bloodz will have to play without CJ?K and Harvin will get his bye to rest his ankle.  The Bloodz will be vulnerable again here, and if they don't hit 110 the bolt may slip their grasp here.


2.) BldgDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng   (last week 2 )   7-3
-The German Philosphers picked up another key win in week 10 over barely there opposition, but they still earned it with a nice spread of double digits, including the all important double Cowboy titration. With Grossman falling, there may finally be some rest for the weary in the Milesian.  BDT now enjoys  an advantage in win percentage and division record over their rivals at the g0dbank.  With a handful of (at least) short term RB starters on their bench, BDT should have their work cut out setting the flex in the upcoming in division matches. BDT gets Pelicans, Grossman and Tusken FC to finish out.  The Adherents of Being control their own destiny, but a loss this week could make a week 12 match with Grossman the decider in the Milesian.

Next week  -ThePelicanBrief  - trying to run their streak to four BDT will see if they can finally expunge the Brief from the playoff record.   This is a grudge match, so expect both teams to show up guns blazing for the long awaited battle.  Their opponents will get RGIII (vs. leaky Philly pass D) Jamaal Charles and Greene back from a trade so this is a fair fight, if not exactly even footing.

3.) TakingTigerMountain (last week T.3)  7-3
Week 10 saw the Tigers take out their frustration on the Sand People by putting up their second biggest number of the year.  TTM was again led by the indomitable AP, who connected on another 50+ yd TD run on his way to a 25 point day.  The Mountain finally chose the right QB as Stafford picked up 3 TDs and 400 in a loss to Minnesota.  Though Jennings has been a complete bust at RB, there's rays of hope here.  Maclin got a lot more looks with Foles, Spiller should take a larger role if FJax misses time and Demaryius' injury scare proved to be just that.  Laser hot AP will take a seat in week 11, which will either prepare him to put this team on his back and run to the championship or completely break his stride. TTM gets Girlz, Stylez and Nauts to end the regular season.  They need to run the table and hope for a loss by the Bloodz to reclaim the division and bye, although 1 out of 3 is probably good enough for a wildcard now...

Next week -Phat Girlz- The Girlz bounced back with a win in week 10 and still hold their own destiny for a playoff spot.  Without AP the Tigers may look  a bit tamer.  But the Phat Ones will rest Eli, Lynchm0b.  Where this key division match goes is anyone's guess. 


4.) Phat Girlz (last week  5)  7-3
-The Girlz continued to sashay toward the finish line with a win over another prospective playoff team in week 10.  Eli has hit his midseason funk, but the Girlz have weathered it so far.  Jimmy Graham and the Lynchmob carried the Phat Ones in this one with superior performances.  But Houston's D stepped up for the third week in a row.  Meanwhile Sjax had his best day of the season in an extended game, but on the Girlz bench.  The Phat Ones get TTM, HSNB and Stylez to finish out.  Since the Primordial Ones have rolled over the Girlz are playing for post position here.  If they drop two the probably finish 5, if they win two they probably finish 4 (which is two sides of the same game).   A clean sweep might take them to 3, but since they already have 3 in the loss column in the Eleatic, they're unlikely to take the division.

Next week -TakingTigerMountain - with Eli resting and Alex Smith concussed, the call likely goes to the mercurial Carson Palmer, whose day could well decide which way this one swings.  Houston's J-ville match up has the Girlz licking their chops for a 20+ out of the D spot.  SJax should be good for 100 and a score against the Jets soft run defense. 

5.)  GrossmanSachs  (last week T. 3) 6-4
-The g0dbank took a hit in week 10 during a tough bye week when the Girlz sat on their B squad.  The Sachs were doomed when an early concussion knocked back up QB Cutler out of the game.  On the upside Ivory had a nice looking day running over the Atlanta defense rather than around it.  And the elusive Danny Woodhead scampered around Buffalo.  Both names are infamous in the last two fantasy years as high gamble split times and spot starters.  While it would take some balls to run either in the lineup every week, they should both provide some security in the coming weeks.  The Sachs get Trichs BDT, and SFF to finish out. They need to run the table and hope for a BDT loss to grab the Milesian bye. But with the fourth most points and a high powered offense, they could take the top seed - so the Sachs easily claim the widest range between 1-7 seeds depending on their performance. 

Next week -Trichotillomaniacs - the Sexy Rexies get the Trichs in a must-win Milesian mambo.  With three squads sitting at 5-5, it's all but guaranteed that someone will notch above .500 next week.  With Rodgers and Fitzy back the Sachs will look to avoid the percentage tie. With the Trichs missing R-burger and Nicks, they'll be at pains to pull together a challenge.


6.) AEthernauts  (Last week - 6) -  6-4
After dropping two in a row, the Nauts have the bubble teams licking their chops in week 11.  Hobbled by Vick's concussion the Nauts couldn't make triple digits and came into Monday clinging to a four point lead that didn't hold.  Rivers came on last week, so there should be at least some excitement to see him start in week 11.  The upside story has to be the game of the year for Calvin Johnson, where he finally gave that b34st the Nauts have been looking for. Hot and cold Turner went nowhere again, but how can you sit him? The Nauts get the Bloodz, Dangles and Mountain to end up.  In the bottom half of the scoring so far, they'll need two out of three to go this year. 

Next week -HomeSpunNeckBloodz- The Explorers try to keep their heads in the playoff clouds against the Bolt-holders in week 11.  With the Bloodz missing CJ?K there'll be an opening for an upset.  A win and they'll have the wind at their backs, a loss could drag them down to the depths. 

7.) ThePelicanBrief  (last week 8)  5-5
-The Brief opened the playoff door again with a week 10 win, then executed a super trade whose effects are unknown.  Dealing franchise QB RG3, the Brief picked up last year's model (Newton) and two backs (Charles and Greene).  It's a fascinating transition for a team that came out of the draft practically without a ground game.  In the short term it covers for FJax's concussion absence, and gives them a fighting chance to save their season against BDT this week.  In the long term it significantly downgrades their hype by divesting themselves of cover-boy RG3.  Perhaps the Brief are looking to go cheap on dynasty keepers as Cam will likely be a candidate for comeback player of the year in 2013.  As far as last minute IDP fixes go, Derick Johnson may go down in history.  He picked up the needed four points with room to spare and looks like an obvious start the rest of the way.  The Brief, like the other .500 teams, needs a sweep and some help.  They get BDT, TR, Trichs to finish.  A win over BDT would jumpstart their chances dramatically.

Next week - BldgDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng  - PB made this a must-see TV with the trade.  Team leader Amendola could be back in the lineup.   San Francisco's D with have to step up and overperform against Chicago without Cutler to keep up with BDT's high powered attack. 


 T 8.)  SanFranciscoFerries (last week 7)   5-5
-The Ferries lost one that would have all but guaranteed their playoff ambitions, then went out and traded for a QB upgrade.  The back story of this has to be Martin. The muscle hamster's emergence gives the Ferries the confidence to trade two bell-cow backs. For the moment Felix will sit pretty with the starter position for Dallas.  Although if Murray returns that could be a drag in the playoff weeks.  It's a hard loss to swallow for the Ferries, but it's easy to see how it could inspire a trade move, even for a team with the inside track to the playoffs.  SFF's bench outscored their starters - they had plenty in their stable to take out the Bloodz, but they picked the wrong horses.  Selling high on finicky RB Charles in a failing offense seems like a win, and cutting bait with Cam makes sense as his adjustment to additional pocket presence has been slow.  It's hard to see slow-to-heal Run DMC playing a big factor down the stretch, but if he can get back he's a definite RB2/flex factor. The Ferries get TR, Trichs, and Grossman to finish.  Needing a clean sweep there's good odds that the Ferries can at least take this to week 13 to decide, but they may need to rack up some big numbers to close the points gap with g0dbank.

Next week -Tusken Raiders - Can the Ferries recover?  They'll take their first steps against the longest losing streak in the PSAS.  The Sand People are no pushovers, although their lack of interest in lineup-setting could rob them of one RB (Bradshaw's on a bye).  The Ferries need to go into their final match up with Grossman 7-5 to have a shot at winning their way in.

T. 8.)  Cincinnati Dangles (last week 8)   5-5
-The Dangles  made it two in a row in week 10 but still have a long road to the playoffs. Breesus bowled over 20, and sporting his own pair of wins- he's the wind at Cincinnati's backs going into division play. Gonzo returned to early season form with 24 to lead the squad.  The Falcon's D should have an easier time against Arizona next week.   AJ Green is the obvious difference maker down the stretch.  If he can keep up his production, then the Dangles have a shot at pulling off their playoff dream.The Dangles get Stylez, Nauts and Bloodz to end the season. Since the Dangles are a higher scoring team, there are a couple scenarios in which they can go at 7-6 and take the 6 spot.  Still the surest road is a clean sweep.

Next week -  Pr1m0rdi4lLyfestylz®  - with T-Rich back the Dangles go against the non-entity Stylez.  Just because it's a gimme doesn't make it less important.  This is the last sub .500 team they'll see.  And looking toward a potential playoff tie (points scored is a tie breaker and they're currently third in the league, just ahead of Grossman) they can't afford to take their foot off the gas.


10.) Trichotillomaniacs (last week 10) 2-8
-When heartbreak is a weekly event, is it still heartbreaking?  With a chance at a MNF comeback, the Trichs watched their QB R-burger take possible season ending injury.  Their offense was strictly single digits, while they picked up a few good games from the K, DEF, and IDP positions.  No team has been more active on the wire than the Trichs, and none more adamant about giving up.  All we can say is that there's a worthy prize for the consolation tournament, so plenty of reason to keep putting up good numbers.

Next week -GrossmanSachs - the Sachs are playing for their spot in the top six, and these two just swapped running backs.  Without the Burger the Trichs will be serious dogs.  We hope they don't miss Morris at draft time in 2013.

11.) Pr1m0rdi4lLyfestylz®  (last week 11)  1-9
-It impossible to say too little about this.  The Stylez failed again in fine style, leaving 3x the points on their bench.  They appear to have offered up their season to the g0dz, after sitting Brady and Gr0nk for weeks now.

Next week -Cincinnati Dangles - the Dangles will be the next recepient of the free win on the schedule.

12.) Tusken Raiders (last week 12) 1-9
-.The Raiders are at least leaving their best team on the field, even if they didn't fill every position.  Their predicted upset hasn't come yet.  But it's still a very real possibility.  The Sand People are capable of putting up 90+ points even on autopilot.  If a wildcard contender slips up, they're gonna get got.

Next week -SanFranciscoFerries - the Ferries are the next to run the Tatooine gauntlet.  If the Raiders don't mend their lineup they'll be without Bradshaw.  The Ferries should be favorites, but not as much as the market line will indicate.

\/\/33K 6 P0\/\/3r R4/\/k1/\/gZ

Week 6 saw the Eleatic thump the Milesian School 6-0.  A true beating that reshaped the league with 5 of 6 Eleatic teams over .500 and 4of 6 Milesian teams under.  RG3's concussion leads the trade debate headlines with the Brief dropping a shocker to the Stylez as a result. It's back to in-division matches in Week 6.  We've got brawls in every tier as we approach the half way point of the regular season.  But how do we get to the playoffs from here?  How does anybody get anywhere, really?


1.) AEthernauts  (Last week - #1) -  4-1
The Sky Captains took their second straight W from the Trichs in handy style in Week 5, using their "little bit of everything mode."  Six Sunday starters put up double digits, including 15 from Baltimore's DEF and 13 from Lance Briggs in an IDP.  The Michael Vick situation certainly come to a head, a cause for concern. Ridley's bench points show that the Nauts are still yards deeper than any other team at the RB position.  Mix in Johnson & Johnson weekly aerial prescription, titrate a little bit of special waiver-wire sauce, and you've got yourself some genuine flying juice.

Next week - TakingTigerMountain -  For command of the Eleatic and top position in the league itself, it's a clash of titanic proportions.  They'll have Calvin back from the bye, and miss their Nawlin's backfield in this one.  Here's where the depth should really pay off. These two will see each other again in the last week of the season.  If the Eleatic School isn't settled by then, this could be differed to Week 13 Game of the Week.

2.) TakingTigerMountain (last week 4)  4-1
TTM started climbing the playoff Mountain fresh in the second bye week, with a nip & tuck victory over the Ferries.  Luck picked up the game ball with a fantastic 28 in the QB spot (in a strong counter titration with the Packers DEF), no doubt causing some consternation about QB position on Tiger Mountain.  After that Demaryius Thomas was the only other Tiger to find double digits with 16.  AP tweaked his ankle, but still picked up 9.  The Sword of Damocles hanging over the Mountain has to be Jacksonville's incompetence so far.  MJD is himself, but it's hard to run your way out of multiple TD deficits in the first quarter.   The Jags will take a bye and regroup in Week 6

Next week -AEthernauts -The Tigers perfect record in the Eleatic will be tested in Week 6 with a face off against their division rivals for 1st place and bragging rights in the Italian school. Minus MJD the Mountain will have to rely on a time share in RB2 and a WR in flex, unless they can pan some wire gold.  QB choice could set the margin between victory and defeat.

T. 3.) BldgDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng   (last week 2)   3-2
-BDT dropped a second straight game getting smoked by a hot Dangles club.  Dalton did little with his chance to take over the starting job in Romo's bye absence putting up only his projection at 11.   Ray Rice was Baltimore's offense in the no TD game against the Chiefs.  James Jones filled in admirably for Bryant. He should be a WR2/Flex option if Jennings misses more time.  Hixon was all over the field for the Giants, but not in the endzone, where Cruz/Bradshaw sucked all of the fantasy air out of the blowout.   If the Niners defense keeps handing the offense giant leads, Kendall Hunter could be valuable in a weekly mop-up role.

Next week  - Tusken Raiders - Back to the Milesian for week 6.  No major byes in this one.  BDT needs to protect their perfect Milesian record or risk sinking out of the division race.

T 3.)  GrossmanSachs  (last week 3) 3-2
-The Bankers got a big wedding present from the Spinners in the form of a good old fashion Sach-kicking.  Hitting triple digits again the asset managers couldn't come out on top in Week 5 and fall to 3-2.  A-Rodg put up his second straight 20 point effort.  And Chicago's defense put on a second straight display of turnover badassery.  McGahee didn't do himself any favors fumbling on a potential game-tying drive.  Lots of production here, just not much paydirt - Tyranny of Touchdowns, we know...

Next week - SanFranciscoFerries  - A Milesian match-up with the San Francisco Treats.  The Ferries will be without their Cam-angelo goal line tandem, so the Sachs should be favored here.

5.)  Cincinnati Dangles (last week T.6)   3-2
-Gotta hand it to those Dangles. A second straight week above 110, puts them in a solid 1st for points scored.  This week they couldn't be denied with a powerful all-around attack that downed BDT.  Drew Brees pulled into Fantasy #1 QB status with another great performance. NO's defensive woes at least agree with his fantasy output. Six double digits on the Dangles roster, and none bigger than Mendy's hiccup free return.  With a QB1, WR1 and two borderline RB1, the Dangles now look like true competitors for the playoffs.

Next week - HomeSpunNeckBloodz - Minus the Breesus the Dangles will have to try to find a way to win against a hot Bloodz club, also struggling with several key absences.  It's Bye bowl with midseason playoff implications.

T. 6.) HomeSpunNeckBloodz (last week 8)   3-2
-The Spinners  notched a second straight upset breaking the bank with a 130+ number.  Despite getting a straight 0 from CJ0k, the Bloodz piled up big time numbers with 20+ from Manning, Harvin and Marshall.  Tillman's pick 6 served as a perfect IDP hedge against the Bank's Chicago DEF.  Forte and Gould were also beneficiaries of Chi-town's route of J-ville. So, extra style points for using your opponent's team against him.

Next week - Cincinnati Dangles  - Against a powerful Dangles club the Bloodz will have to get creative with their Bears on byes.  With Forte out and CJ?K manning the other RB slot, ground production could be very anemic here.


T. 6.) Phat Girlz (last week T. 8)  3-2
-Picking up the first sole possession of Zeus' Thunderbolt the Girlz waltzed right back into playoff relevance with a third straight victory in Week 5. Despite Jimmy Graham's ankle injury drawing a 0, the Girlz picked up four double digits, lead by Colston's break out 31.  Ryan Matthews appears headed for a heavier workload, potentially giving Monique's club 3 legit backs.

Next week -Pr1m0rdi4lLyfestylz®  - the Phat Ones get a shot at 4 straight with an Eleatic rumble against the Primordial Ones. Missing their Saints, the Girlz could be vulnerable to an upset here.  They'll have to work it any which way...


7.) ThePelicanBrief  (last week 5)  2-3
-This one's gotta sting for the Legal Thrillers.  Only a week removed from an emotional victory over the Commish, the Brief dropped a shocker to basement dwellers, Stylez.  Headlining the collapse has to be RGIII, knocked out of the game with only 3 points. Hopefully, he's OK because the Brief has bet their entire season on his health.  With F-Jax slow to return to full power and Amendola out indefinitely, it's been a week to forget for the Brief.  Run DMC will be back in Week 6, where they'll try and wash the bitter taste of defeat from their palette.

Next week -Trichotillomaniacs - the Brief gets a chance at redepmtion by squaring off with Milesian underdogs the Trichs in Week 6. Both squads are dinged up, so this could be battle of attrition.



8.)  SanFranciscoFerries (last week T.6)   2-3
-The Ferries took another step backward, along with their QB in Week 5.  Cam laid an egg against Seattle and Williams put up negative points. The good news is that Jamaal Charles seems to be hitting his stride, and Cruz is getting a bunch of endzone looks. Not every match-up will be as tough for Cam, but his Sophmore Slump seems well in progress. RG3's injury effectively took Garcon and Davis out of action as well, making a comeback in week 5 unlikely.

Next week - GrossmanSachs - the Ferries get a chance to break the bank with a key Milesian match in Week 6. With the Camdy man on a bye, the back-up-less Ferries will have to go to the wire for a replacement.  Missing a key piece they'll be heavy underdogs, but they need a win to maintain contact in the division.

T. 10.) Tusken Raiders (last week T.10) 1-4
-Dropping their third straight, the Raiders put up triple digits, but couldn't avoid the L.  Losing streaks can be brutal in the PSAS, and this one has dug the Raiders into a mid season hole. Bradshaw and Wayne both had career days, wasted by a few lowballs and a red-hot Girlz performance. Other than the inflating loss column, there's not too much to worry about here.  Ryan and Rivers are both still holding their own.  If Wayne is emerging as WR1 in the Luck era, that's more good news. Some minor tweaks at DEF and IDP would go a long way to a Tusken run at the playoffs.

Next week -BldgDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng - No rest for the weary, as the Raiders get a chance to knock off the top Milesian squad and contract the division a bit. They'll be underdogs, but not prohibitively so.  The Raiders can be dangerous down the stretch, whether as playoff competitors or spoilers remains to be seen.

T. 10.) Trichotillomaniacs (last week T. 10) 1-4
-The Hair-Pullers caught the Nauts on a beatable week, but just couldn't squeeze enough production out of their squad. The return of Mendy seems a dark portent for R-burger's fantasy future in traditionally run-first Pittsburgh offense. Still Alfred Morris' march toward RB1 continued.  Nick's hoped-for return could cover some blemishes here.

Next week -ThePelicanBrief - they'll be dogs in this one, but they've been dependent on breaks all season. With the Brief coming off one upset, can the Far East make it two?

T. 10.) Pr1m0rdi4lLyfestylz®  (last week 11)  1-4
-In the shocker of the Week, the Stylez, running a bye week RB, upset the Brief and notched their first victory of the season.   How did they do it?  Brady Jones and Floyd all showed up for double digits.  And Von Miller finally hit B34st mode status with 10 in IDP.   There were 10 on the bench from Brown, so this could have been a triple digit day for the Stylez.  Still, sometimes luck can turn a franchise's season around. Redemption  starts today.

Next week - Phat Girlz - the Stylez will have to cool off the red hot Girlz if they want to pull their way out of the Eleatic cellar. It's actually not a bad match-up with the Girlz suffering from a couple key byes.  Ryan Williams is out, so the Stylez will probably need to set a lineup to come away with a W in week 6.

Week 4 took down the last two undefeated teams and shaped the league back into thirds.  4 teams over .500, 4 teams at .500, and 4 teams under .500.  Some of the trades are starting to pan out and some are exploding in fine fashion. PB and PG both take a share of the Bolt at 2 straight wins. Everybody again lines up for inter-division play in Week 5.  Eleatic Staticites and Milesian Fluxists split 3-3 in the first bye week - rematch starts now. 


1.) AEthernauts  (Last week - #2) -  3-1
The Nauts rise back to the top of the pack with a rebound victory over a line-up-deficient FC Tusken.  Still, they earned it, putting up triple digits for the third time this year.  Turner Overdrive returned to the starting position with a leading 22 pts.  Everybody got involved and covered for some low-balling from the usually reliable Johnson & Johnson.  Ridley put up 22 on the bench, you've got to say the Nauts have the deepest run game at this point.

Next week - Trichotillomaniacs - The Explorers will look to pick up a 2nd bye week victory against the Hairpullers in week 5. The Nauts will be missing Calvin in this one, so they'll need another round of full participation to rise to the challenge.


2.) BldgDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng   (last week 1)   3-1
-BDT dropped a key one against a resurgent Girlz franchise in the first by week. MNF sputterings by Romo and Bryant couldn't make up a 35 point defecit.  Romo was not just bad, he was frighteningly bad under the big lights in Arlington, 1/5 TD/Int.   He now has a combined 11 points in two weeks since being acquired by BDT.  Rice missed double digits for the first time this year.  And fastest finger acquisition Barden got bumped by Hixon for the start at the last minute.  Lafell pulled a zero in the flex, still BDT's weakness in lack of depth.  Dalton had 21 on the bench, one of the best back-ups in the league.  Foster and Rice still fantasy 1/2 - blue at the core at least.

Next week - Cincinnati Dangles  - A Cowboys bye will force BDT to go hot with Dalton, a waiver wire replacement for Bryant could be in the cards too.  Could Dalton be a serious competitor for the starting job?  He's top 10 in FP...

3.)  GrossmanSachs  (last week 6) 3-1

-The Sachs got back in the black with an almost calm (compared to their recent history) victory over the Stylez. Chicago's feast on Romo's lame duck passing attempts made this one a MNF laugher. We saw Rodgers first big number with 27 against a helpless Saints D, and a dominant 28 from Roddy White. McGahee's nice day covered for the absence of a 2nd back.  D-Jax touched the endzone from the bench, he could be a nice bye-week spot filler. Hopefully Chandler's injury is a temporary setback, because he looks like a nice wire fix for the TE slot.

Next week - HomeSpunNeckBloodz  - the Sachs see the Bloodz in Week 5 looking to string together two bye week victories. Minus Austin on bye we could see a D-Jax experiment in the flex here.  If A-Rodg lights up the Colts, it might be all academic.

4.) TakingTigerMountain (last week 3)  3-1
TTM dropped to double digits for the first time this year and it cost them against the Legal Thrillers.  MJD's low-ball stands out, with only 13 rushes in the game against the Bengals.  The balance between the Jags offensive struggles and their ability to get MJD the ball could largely determine TTM's fate week-to-week.  Maclin was a non-factor and BDT clearly needs Spiller's return to full health or the flex will be a grab bag going forward.

Next week -SanFranciscoFerries -TTM will be minus their double titration QB-TE, so Luck will draw his first start here.  A tough bye week is no excuse, the Tigers need to etch a victory  in the worst way.

5.) ThePelicanBrief  (last week 6)  2-2
-A clutch victory over the Commish keeps the Pelicans on the path to the playoffs in Week 4.  The Brief have to be ecstatic to come away with a W here, since sub 110 shouldn't have gotten the job done. RG3 had his smallest day so far at 22.  A pair of TE's drew zeros and lead back Run DMC couldn't get going against Denver.  Game ball goes to the San Francisco D who draw the high score at 29 (!).  They won't draw the Jets every week, but they look well worth their auction price ($8 draft dollars)  if they gave PB a victory in Week 4.

Next week -Pr1m0rdi4lLyfestylz®  FJax wasn't a complete success, but if he came through the week uninjured he should be ready to move into the flex next week. PB should have a good shot to move above .500.

T.6.)  Cincinnati Dangles (last week 5)   2-2
-The Dangly Ones dropped a tough one against a powerful week from the Ferries.  They would have beat more than half the teams in the league, but got dropped by the Ferries solid week.  They'll stick around in the Red Chips because Mendenhall may be back in Week 5. If he's productive off the bat, it's the flex solution they've been looking for. Brees, a loser in RL, is still a top 5 QB in PSAS. 

Next week -BldgDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng    The Dangles will draw a true test against the top of the Milesian.  This is the kind of midseason game that the year can hang on. BDT will miss his Cowboys, the Dangles and Mendy need to take advantage here.

T.6.)  SanFranciscoFerries (last week 7)   2-2
-The Ferries racked up their season high-score in Week 4 and drew even on the year.  Holdovers Newton and Cruz got back on track combining for 46.  Smith picked up a handy 16 in the flex.  Jamaal Charles turned in his second straight superb effort and that has to be the best news for the Ferries, if he's back, they'll be competitive through the year.

Next week -TakingTigerMountain  -  The Ferries will miss Doug Marti as they go up against the Mountain, but with the Commish missing his Lions double titration, they've got a good chance to pull the upset and themselves above .500.

T. 8.) HomeSpunNeckBloodz (last week 9)   2-2
-The Spinners  picked up a victory over the Trichs in week 4, but didn't pick up any style points along the way. Manning returned to form and a late TD from VJax made the flex productive.  The good news is that CJ?K responded to his benching by having his most productive week yet.  The bad news, he's still taunting his o-line.  The Bloodz need both of their RB's to consistently hit top tier to make a run at the playoffs.

Next week -GrossmanSachs - The Spinners get a shot to take down the Bank in Week 5. CJ?k should be back if only because VJax is on bye.


T. 8.) Phat Girlz (last week T. 10)  2-2
-Gettin' funkay for the 2nd straight week the Girlz may have found their 2012 groove.  Colston finally showed up as a WR1 here, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Lynch and Benson combined for 30 from the RB slots.  Ryan Matthews still hasn't recovered his feature role, but he's got enough love to serve as a passable flex for now.  The devil's in the details, and the Girlz attention here is paying dividends - their IDP picked up 24.8 in Week 4.

Next week - Tusken Raiders   - the Girlz get a tailor made chance to put the Junk Bond rating behind them and pull above .500 with a 3rd straight victory. With Wallace and SJax back in action they should be the favorites.

T. 10.) Tusken Raiders (last week 8) 1-3
-The Raiders didn't fill their line-up and got squashed in week 4.  Week 4 can sneak up on you, and the Sand People paid the price in a big way.  Hopefully that's lesson learned in 2012.  Matt Ryan and Dwayne Bowe continue to lead the air game at the top.  Reggie Bush played, but couldn't find the endzone.  The Raiders need to put the hex on Forte because Bush can be productive in a lead role.  It may be time to cut bait with the disappointing Eagles defense, who low-balled for a 3rd straight week.

Next week - Phat Girlz  The Sand People get a chance to right the ship against a hot-to-trot PG franchise. Matty Ice gets the struggling Skins D, and no byes among the starters means we should see a full complement.

T. 10.) Trichotillomaniacs (last week T. 10) 1-3
-The Hair-Pullers came up short against the Bloodz, in a tough QB bye week.  They rolled the dice with Ponder and got burned. Jackie Battle was productive on the bench, but who had any idea that was coming?  Morris had his second straight productive week, and Jordy Nelson finally connected with Rodgers. Hakeem Nicks' continued health status ? will keep them in the junk bonds for now.

Next week - AEthernauts - The Trichs get a chance to play kingslayer in Week 5 against  the high flying Explorers.  With the R-burger back, the Trichs should be in the mix for another upset.

12.) Pr1m0rdi4lLyfestylz®  (last week 12)  0-4
-Demarco Murray couldn't save the Stylez on MNF and they fell to 0-4.  Brady finally came through in a big way putting up 31.  However, Julio Jones has proved a feast or famine wideout. It was PL's biggest number, and there's still time to right the ship here.  PL just needs a break to put one of their handcuffs in a lead back position - someone to hammer down that flex position. 

Next week - ThePelicanBrief  - No rest for the weary as the Primordial Ones put their backs to the wall.  They'll be there every week until they get a streak going.  Dig in your heels, boys.

Week 4 Stock Market Profits & Dividends

Another week at the market another round of upsets creating big payouts for a few.  Four saw the Commish's fall from the blue chips.  Three foretold the Ferries bounce-back.  And the Trichs picked four upsets and saw the big payout of the Girlz upsetting the top ranked BDT cover their mistakes.
