Week 12 Recap

Whew, where did 2014 go?  Josh Gordon returned, and we just had ourselves Week 12.

Post season field is set with the current top six contending for 2014 championship after BDT and SFF both won convincingly to punch their tickets.  Seems Nauts, at 10-2, have clinched first-round bye behind Tanny and the Buffalo D.  Big Sky can break the regular-season win record if they beat TigerMtn in the finale and get 11 wins.  They are playing good heading into the post season with Gordon looking like a strong WR1 in the making already, though getting 45 pts combined from their kicker and team defense probably won't happen again.  9-3 Girlz have the other bye all but in possession, as they lead the 8-4 teams in both points and wins.  The first-round matchups may differ, but it'll be TTM/Dijon/BDT/SFF in the first-round, then the winners facing Nauts/Girlz in the semi.

As for the bottom half of the league, some of us will be contending for Moral Victory while the others will focus (?) solely (?) on the consolation prizes.  Polk High leads the moral victory field, with Old Future, Trichs, and Pelican following within 25 and having a realistic chance of landing some extra draft budget for next year (*disclaimer: last week's calculation for Pelican was a bit off--about 18 pts--, this week I double checked the numbers).

Over/Under
Mark Sanchez 12.93 (16.06 proj) Under; Trix bet over and lose
Jamaal Charles 17.20 (19.07 proj) Under; reference
Josh Gordon 12.80 (10.89 proj) Over; TTM bet under and lose, Pelican bet over and win.

Pelican goes all in on Josh Gordon and triples their wallet.  Nice.

Stock Market
In a quiet twilight market, TTM and Trix bet on BDT's romp pays them but self-investment didn't produce return.

Week 12 Stock Market & Previewz

Lets hope Charles isn't injured soon

I'll make everything short.  Rankingz came out early and I'm trying to finish work early and beat the G-W Bridge traffic here.  Necessarily adjustments will be made in due time.

Clinched playoffs: AEthernauts, Phat Girlz, TakingTigerMountain, Dijonnaise All-Stars have clinched a spot in the post-season and are vying for the first-round Week 14 bye.

Need one more win or Spinnerz loss to clinch: BuildingDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng and SanFranciscoFerries virtually have the magic number down to one and could clinch playoffs spot this week.

Outside looking in, gates starting to close: HomeSpunNeckBloodz lacking points and the Old Future with seven losses are on the verge of elimination.

Moral Victory: Polk High Panthers, Trichotillomaniacs and ThePelicanBrief are within 12 pts in the shit-outa-chocolate Moral Victory race.

Grace period over, Autopilot Indicator On: Took them this long, but Shock_Pix are in a familiar territory of out and no pay.

Last of the bye: Carolina and Pittsburgh will be the last teams to have their mid-season vacation.

A significant game for the first-round bye outlook, Dijon face the Girlz in the Ong Bowl as Monique's entourage are struggling to find points as AP's saga and wait continue.

(4) TakingTigerMountain 8-3 (2 bb) vs (12) Shock_Pix 3-8 (15 bb)

(10) ThePelicanBrief 3-8 (5 bb) vs (11) Polk High Panthers 2-9 (5 bb)
Ever-so-important moral victory match as the Bundys showcase their starz in a too-late fashion. Big Ben on bye is the last chance to make dropping a kicker count.

Week 11 Recap

Ok that was painful.  Butt-fumble week.  Started with that constipation of an early game STL-DEN and dragged on.  I heard MNF was exciting, sorry to have missed that.  I was in my room doing push-ups and sit-ups.  Ah, I see that Yahoo tells us four teams (Nauts, Girlz, TTM and Dijon) have clinched playoffs spot.  Congrats, ladies and gents!  Two more teams, BDT at 7-4 and Ferries at 6-5 are both at magic number 1 and most likely will round-out the post-season field.  Bloodz at 5-6 and lacking points have to win out and have lots of help (bribery accepted this week @ commish office).  Old Future is also uneliminated, though remains being a very long-shot.

Just to let you know, this week I'll be fairly absent from football until Sunday.  It's my bye week.  I'll fulfill minimum managerial and commissioner duties but not much.  It's timely since there's a lot of explanation to do for General.

Pick 4
Trichs (Teddy, Forte, D-Jax, Denver): 32.97
TTM (Brees, Ingram, DT, Buffalo): 44.75

Week 11 Stock Market & Previewz

What men like are: Cars, Women and Football
*UPDATED after BDT-Trichs trade*
Old reliables.  That's what Week 10 was full of.  Actually, it's the 2014 season.  Sure, new stars have emerged (Andrew Luck, Antonio Brown, Le'veon Bell).  But it's the old relialbes (Peyton, Romo, Foster, Lynch, Gore, Fitz, Jordy, Steve Smith, etc.) that are coming through and lifting teams, in real football and in fantasy, that it seems time has been in warp between 2008 and 2012 since the Old Future joined the league.  A "veteran" in Japanese (ベテラン=phonetically similarly pronounced as the English word) solely means "elder of profession" (since we technically don't have a military), so on this Veteran's Day we solute the old reliables.  Of course with keeper in play, the draft tended to focus on younglings, but we are reminded that when it counts, experience matters.

The PSAS playoffs field is pretty set at top-5, with one remaining spot being contested by two that control their own destiny while others make noise in the surrounding areas.  The gate's not totally shut for anyone.  Moral Victory picture is also getting interesting, with Trichs, Polk and Pelican all within 8 pts, making scoring matter as much as getting that W in a brutal way.

All top-tier teams are facing someone with lesser credentials this week.  Such is the time to prove your worth, as certainly no one up there should drop one to us commoners.  Of course, all their opponents are clinging on their hopes, no matter how small hope can be, and will be coming at them with full force.  If the underdogs succeed in toppling someone is beside the point.  I'm telling you, the odds will be there, and it may be the last chance for a big payday befor that final one waiver pick-up you need to go over the hump.

The payout schedule for each 5 bankerbitez bet is as following.

                                      Blue Chip     Market Performer     Junk

The Guide
-Ben vs Cam
(1) AEthernauts 8-2 (2 bb) vs (12) Polk High Panthers 2-8 (15 bb)
Which starting franchise QBs will bounce back?

Nauts are atop alone with three wins in a row, but they get resurgent full-squaded Bundys on DeMarco bye this week.  The other keeper-pillar Newton needs to pick up his game, but judging from MNF he's really not that comfortable this year.  I'd lose the towel, which even at the beginning of the game makes him look sulking, but Cam doesn't care about what I think.  Josh Gordon is still a week away from his debut, which means double TE set may return here.  Nauts are 1-1 in BigSky formation.

Polk High finally gets their full squad to battle top-ranking Nauts with Charles, AJ Green and Megatron all finally in the lineup healthy.  Roethlisberger on MNF will be targeting Martavis in the endzone, so they better rack up points on Sunday.  Nauts are without RB1 Murray, so if all stars align like it's 2013, Bundys can steal a moral-boosting W here.

Upset looks good on paper, plus DeMarco-less Nauts not as potent.

-Luck vs Kaep?
(2) Phat Girlz 7-3 (3 bb) vs (8) Trichotillomaniacs 3-7 (10 bb)
Rivalry week rematch catch both teams off Week 10 losses.  Projection is even.  Odds aren't though they really should be.  Bring it, bitch.

Monique is starting to sweat a bit at armpits as her squad can't stop the skid.  Week 10 was a rough week of bye as their engine Luck-Hilton lifeline was out along with Garçon, and, while fill-in Alex and Torrey Smitties played admirably, Monique will hurry Luck and Co back into the lineup.  Forte was a rare disappointment in Chicago slump and backfield-mate Tate is losing touches in Cleveland so backfield has lost some firepower of late, which if it continues could be what finally slows down Luck and Co.  SNF Indy match against Brady and Pats D is not an easy one for Luck, but at least they play at home.  Cobb is the key here playing against Philly.  It's been a while since Girlz tasted victory, and one over rival Trichs will be even sweeter.

Trichs dreamed of Carson City in the desert and got Shock-topped big time in Week 10.  I don't even want to talk about it.  Can we move on?  I'll mention Kelvin Benjamin's incredible two-garbage-time-TD performance.  Up until then, he was garbage.  So, Week 11, it's back to Kaep, and Trichs just completed their first trade of the season with the Dwellers.  For WR2, RB2+ and an IDP standout they get Sanchez to connect to Maclin and Shady, WR1 in Dez and a RB2- Ivory.  General was seeming moving away from Kaep when Carson got injured, so Sanchez may get the start here in an expected shootout against GB.  If given a chance, Kaep is in a tasty match against NYG he may actually do something (probably not).  Maclin is cooling as Sanchez is favoring Matthews.  Jackson Brightspot Robinson (actually his first name is Denard and middle name Shoelace) is on bye so Mr. Glasslegs is back as McCoy's stall-mate.  Not ideal situations here against rival Girlz, but such is year 2014 in the Far East.  Half of the bodies' is in the river now but the Trichs squad still got that six cents in their pockets, no they are actually sewn on to their clothes through holes that are on Japanese coins.  Expect a battle.

Girlz hanging in the top-tier means another good odds for Trichs.  Demand may be waning however.

-Brees vs Carr?
(3) TakingTigerMountain 7-3 (3 bb) vs (7) HomeSpunNeckBloodz 5-5 (10 bb)
Crescent City Connection gets the must-win Cyclotron passing through.

TTM has been fairly dominant during their latest three-game winning streak, and while Week 10 win over Ferries came closer than they liked it was yet-again Brees-Graham that shined.  Ben-sanity ended in the hands of the Jets plus two lost fumbles brought Antonio down to earth, but we expect a MNF bounce-back this week.  The Pats offensive pieces returning from bye, Terrence West emerging in Cleveland and Ingram continuing to run for over 100 ydz plus no bye-absence in Week 11 means TTM will stand tall ready against the Spinning Force.

Bloodz waited until Sunday to pick up a Foles-replacement and in the end went with the lesser Carr over the lesser Manning.  It sort of didn't really matter as they won their Week 10 match riding Arizona defense and Marshall's rebound performance.  Not sure Carr is the long-term solution, or even the short-term starter for the Spinnerz that, for the time being, needs to win and hope the Ferries stumble somewhere along.  Their own path isn't all that smooth-sailing with BDT up next, but Cyclotron is only focused on climbing over TigerMtn this week.

Upset alert at distance but full-squaded Tigers are hard to pick against.

-Brady vs Rodgers
(4) Dijonnaise All-Stars 7-3 (2 bb) vs (10) ThePelicanBrief 3-7 (15 bb)
Colonel and Pelican meet head-to-head as both are coming off wins.

No Foster was no problemo for Colonel as Steven Jackson was ala Foster 2011-esque and it was good.  New-comer Michael Evans continued to be the sole bright spot in Tampa and that's also good.  Rodgers was the 6-TD monster of the week and that's good.  Lamar Miller's injury is a concern but Foster got time to heal and is expected to play so it's good.  The Toyota-sponsored blowout could have been a larger one with Philly D on bench scoring 31 pts and it's all good.  All is good in Dijon as they face pesky Pelican before Phat Girlz showdown.  Of course we Asians know that's a very dangerous place to be.  Luckily, yellow means caution.

B345tMode single-handedly stood in the way of Hairpullers trying to pluck Pelican feathers with a 4 TD monster of a game to give the Grishamites their first winning streak of the season.  Brady back from bye and playing against Indy in a SNF offensive showdown is an upgrade to Flatto, and Fitz is regaining his 2011 self also though the effect of no Carson in desert is to be monitored.  If the old timers can hang in there this Pelican team is a danger.

I-man smells some-ting hya.

-RGIII vs Wilson
(5) BuildingDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng 7-3 (5 bb) vs (6) SanFranciscoFerries 5-5 (5 bb)
Boyz on bye means RGIII (or Sanchez) as Chico comes to Bay where Ferries are itching to bring someone up-there down.

Mark Sanchez got the important start over Return of Romo against Girlz but it really didn't matter as Dez and Nelson f345ted on TDs.  Golden Tate looked like he's still a reliable option despite Megatron's return in Detroit, and that's a good news for BDT as Dez rests this week.  QB position is sort of a headache to figure out with three viable options of Romo, Sanchez and RGIII but it's not a bad thing and more near-deadline trade is always a possibility for the Philosophers.  They already got one done with the Far East Rulaz, trading away favorite Dez along with Sanchez and Ivory for week 12 on RB upgrade of Shoelace Robinson and Week 11 immediate flex help Kelvin Benjamin plus IDP centerpiece Lavonte David.  The WR group is still championship ready with Jordy, Golden and Kelvin, and if Alfred and Montee can produce to their pre-season expectations here at crutch time, BDT has a legit shot at first-round bye with their scheduling easing up toward the end of regular season.  First thing first, sink the boat at bay.

Ferries are still alternating wins and losses but may need to find a winning streak to secure that last playoffs spot that's been dangling within their reach forever now.  Their match against TTM was played actually respectable but the difference was the bye-fill ins of Gronk and WR that low-balled them to the predictable even-week loss.  Boatmen will welcome Gronk back from bye and Beckham's emergence as a solid WR2, but Terrence Williams laying a goose-egg last week before going on bye this week means keeper Patterson needs to really step up.  The Ferries probably wish they could start four RBs against BDT to avoid getting their first streak in the wrong end, so a trade may be in the works, except the likeliest franchise to make a trade is their opponent this week.

Odd-number favor SFF but odds are even.  Sort of stinks for them but they don't really need dividends money anyways.

-Peyton vs Cutler
(9) The Old Future 3-7 (5 bb) vs (11) Shock_Pix® 3-7 (5 bb)
Two season-on-blinks go head-to-head in a match fought for hope and pride.

Future's rookie campaign is surely not what the Timewarp had in mind.  Behind Peyton they just don't have much since injuries depleted them.  While Gore continues to be the sole piece of 49er offense that isn't a disappointment and epitomizes old-reliability, that says something about the rest of the Future squad.  It's good to see them still active in the waivers and getting improvements.  They have a winnable match here, and it's one they have to win to keep on hanging on to that one strand of straw.

In a way, this one is more a crucial week for psychdogs.  TEs bye means they need to dip to waiver wires (means autopilot indicator).  Bortles on bye means Cutler needs to have a bounceback.  They have weapons to actually fill Harvin's off and Demaryus always give them an explosion-possibility.

Difficult match, certainly don't want to bet against either of these teams right now.

Week 10 Recap

Apologies for delayed post.  I was riding my CitiBike down Bleecker St this morning when this truck came out of no where and almost killed me because I don't wear a helmet.  I took a picture of the truck in preparation for a litigation.  Here it is!

In stark contrast to the madness that was Week 9, Week 10 passed relatively calmly.  Phat Girlz went down to BDT for the third straight loss and probably will lose the Uptown Top Ranking, but the rest of the results were dictated mostly by standings (well except for Pelican beat down of Pullers).  Barring something crazy, five teams above .500 (Nauts, Girlz, TTM, Dijon, and BDT) will make the playoffs, with Nauts one leg up in the race for first-round bye.  The .500 club of Ferries and Bloodz will battle for the last playoffs spot, but the road is rough for both franchises.  SFF face BDT, Trix and Dijon for the final three regular season games, while Bloodz have TTM, BDT and Trix on the plate.  Because of the tough road ahead for both 5-5 teams, the quartet of 3-7 teams still have chances if they can win out the rest of the season.  And as crazy as it sounds 2-8 Bundys aren't mathematically eliminated just yet either (imagine a 5-8 team in the playoffs).  In the market, in part due to lack of upsets, in part due to the market's timidity following last week's near explosion and in part due to dwindling talent pool in waiver-market as the mega bye storm passes through town, not much happened and more was actually taken out.  A needed correction for the final leap, it seems.  The season is by no means close to being over, which means injuries will happen (ala Carson City) and waiver money demand sure will pick up (ala Brandon Jacobs).  Do we hear, Manziel, ehm, Tebow?

Shank-I-Punt
Punters are punters for a reason.  Actually.., I don't really have much to say here.  It was a punt kind of a week for me anyways.  So, here are the results.

Future: Koenen 23 ydz
TTM: Wing 46 ydz
Trix: Lanning 32 ydz

Old Future will collect pool and matching funds (-3+9+9), a smooth +15.  Nice.

Over-Under
In their head-to-head matchup, it was Vick that was 2010, not Ben.  Sanchez on MNF was as effective as he can be (except for that one failed read-option keeper in which Mark went down like a girl), tossing two TDs and throwing for over 330 ydz.

Ben 12.97 / 19.71-proj (UNDER): Future, TTM and Trix bought OVER (and lost)
VIck 17.68 / 16.94-proj (OVER): Future, TTM and Trix bought UNDER (and lost)
Sanchez 19.68 / 16.36-proj (OVER): Trix bought OVER (and won)

Stock Market
In a week with not much activity in the stock market, lack of upsets hit investors hard with many of derivatives featuring underdogs.  The result is a major down-turn for those that were bullish.  Some franchises wisely stayed put, so the damage was rather contained, except where the bleeding didn't stop.

Week 10 Stock Market & Previewz

Week 10 usually means crunch time.  Previous week's upsets surprisingly didn't alter the league landscape much, except maybe there are now five elite teams (Girlz, Nauts, TTM, Dijon and BDT) vying for the top two first-round bye spots.  Up to five teams are battling for the last playoffs seat, among whom the Ferries at 5-4 clearly is the favorite, but four games remaining against TTM, BDT, Trix and Dijon make it a tough road for them to even go 2-2 to finish 7-6.  So the door is still open but the rest of the hopefuls are in just-win-out-and-hope-for-the-best mode. One thing the upsets did was put more liquidity into the thinning waiver market, which could see some volatility moving forward.  Another heavy dose of bye here with Houston, Indy, Minnesota, New England, San Diego and Washington all with multiple fantasy stars on break.

I'll admit, with circumstances this isn't my A-effort in writing the previewz, many comments aren't backed by research.  Just you know.  What you expect, I wasn't supposed to have any money left after going all-in for AP.  Anyhow, this is B-day week, so I'm forgiven.

The Guide
-Bounce-Back Week
(t-1) Phat Girlz 7-2 (3 bb) vs (5) BuildingDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng 6-3 (10 bb)
The much anticipated Week 10 showdown on Luck-TY bye and BDT QB change will feature two teams on mini-losing skids at two drops in a row.  Neither teams can afford to make it three for first-round bye hopes.

"Just one of those days," sighed Monique, and true that.  Week 10 loss for the entourage saw no one other than Luck and TY crack 5 pts while Forte and Cobb were on bye.  Now it's Luck and TY's turn to sit.  While the returning studs will surely pick up where they left off, Ginger is no where to be seen on her bench and there aren't great options at QB in the market with injuries mounting at the position.  Tate's lack of production following offensive line injuries and the subsequent arrival of RBBC makes the once-attractive Cleveland backfield a potential doom.  Monique opened up her phat wallet and went after AP's supposedly near-return in a playoff-aimed move.  But meanwhile for the first time this season, Monique's breathing sounds heavier.

Romo's injury affected the Boyz heavily in Week 10 as low-balling spread from Dez through the roster.  Eli replacing Tony over Robert actually got some good garbage time points to be respectable, and Morris is a clear beneficiary of sharing the backfield with RGIII.  BDT's sentimental attachment to Romo was much less as he was cut loose in a personnel move.  Nelson needs to beat Cobb in TD reception to lift the Dwellers here.

Favorable odds for the Philosophic Ones.

-Rivalry-Week Rematch
(t-1) AEthernauts 7-2 (2 bb) vs (10) Shock_Pix® 3-6 (15 bb)
Nauts beat their Rivalry-Week match handily.

Nauts got the W in Week 9, but it wasn't pretty.  Emanuel Sanders maxed the troops at 16 pts in an effort in which only Cam cracked double digits among the rest of the lineup.  The backfield has some concerns, with Romo-less Murray running into some walls and McKinnon thrice getting vultured by Asiata.  Now with Minnesota and New England on bye, they need immediate RB help but waiver options were limited this week, making some gaps in the Big Sky.  Nauts need bounce-back performances by Newton and DeMarco to avoid getting Shocked.

The Shockers were just several roster moves away from pulling off another one.  Harvin's move to Meadowlands is clearly benefiting the speedster and psychedog, and Hill will surely get the start this week with Gio still nursing in the infirmary.  There are some offensive gaps to fill come Sunday noon-time, but 2014's version of el mundo is a force to be reckoned with week-in and week-out.

Tempted to touch this upsetters chune.  Sweet like Beres Hammond.

-Rivalry-Week Rematch 2
(3) TakingTigerMountain 6-3 (3 bb) vs (6) SanFranciscoFerries 5-4 (10 bb)
Another rivalry-week rematch: this one with much playoffs implication.

Of the top teams, only TigerMoutain stood firm in Week 9.  Their beatdown of Phat Girlz with season's largest points margin was impressive from Thursday start to Sunday night finish, with all skills position players in the doubles while Sanu and Asiata b345ting on the bench.  WIth Ingram's return to form, Crescent City Connection is threefold now and the rest of the pieces are there with potent NE, Denver and Pitt offensive weapons lined up to fire upon will.  This team has turned the corner and looks built to capture that big phat trophy.  Who needs AP with a team like this now.

Odd-numbered week meant Ferries win, which they pulled off rather efficiently without cracking a hundred.  Odell Beckham Jr.'s emergence is a relief to the Boatmen while their other receivers are stalling.  They get their potent NFC North backfield Lacy and Bush back from bye, but it's Gronk's turn to sit plus Seattle's offensive struggle is affecting the QB numbers here.  We'll see if they turn to Stafford in a crucial game.  The Ferries can ill-afford to keep alternating win and loss, and this game against a 6-3 team is a near-must win if they want to make that playoffs aspiration secured.

Always like favorable odds, but betting against Antonio Brown and TTM is scary.

-Housing Court
(4) Dijonnaise All-Stars 6-3 (2 bb) vs (t-11) Polk High Panthers 2-7 (15 bb)
The battle between former tenant and landlord have their status reversed here.

All season long, Dijon must have fielded trade offers for QB1 Rivers with stern No-s in anticipation for Week 9's A-Rodg bye.  One week Philip Rivers needed to perform, he gets a negative two, costing the Mustards sixth-straight win and the top-ranking rod.  That's Philip Rivers for you.  Just like Cutler.  Just like Romo.  Break down at crutch.  That's why Eli is Eli.  He's the two-time Superbowl MVP.  Ok, I digress, whatever it's B-day, I don't want to do much researching so just trying to fill the page here.  Besides, I'm tired of looking at Week 9 Dijon-Trix box score.  Back to Dijon, Mike Evans' breakout performance and Miller continuing to shine with the Fins were bright spots in the loss, and Foster gets a timely bye to heal whatever new ailment he got going so it's not all bad for Colonel getting A-Rodg and not-so-Hot-lanta pieces back.

Big Ben's two-week performance is historical, but what's more astonishing is Polk High actually started Roethlisberger on both occasions, the second of which landed them a much awaited W.  AJ got back and while not dominant found the endzone to snap Bundys out of league-worst seven game skid.  Now that Megatron is also due back, this team is positioned to a) go after Moral Victory and Consy prizes hard and; b) wreck havoc on top-tiered teams for the next two weeks with back-to-back matches against Dijon and Nauts.

Good thing I didn't lose all my money on AP, because this one looks tasty.  Oh I'm tempted to touch yet again.

-Talkers battle
(7) Trichotillomaniacs 3-6 (3 bb) vs (t-11) ThePelicanBrief 2-7 (10 bb)
Two of the unique PSAS franchises with whole system and culture that extend beyond the Yahoo frontpage and the Blogger blog face each other in the fifth dimension, third eye vision, whatever.

Trichs have had their back against the river for a while now, and the river front is moving forward.  In Maclin, they've finally got the WR1 that they've been waiting for.  WR2 production is still hard to get right, with Benjamin, Watkins, Floyd and D-Jax all consistently underproducing when given chance to start.  Shady's quietly picking things up, just lacking TDs which may or may not come now that Mark Sanchez is at the helm.  (Tell me, those that follow college football and especially Pac-10, wasn't Sanchez rated so much higher than Foles coming out?  I don't really know since I've been taking Saturdays off from football for awhile now).  Anyhow, in Denard Robinson, they've also got the RB2/Flex in case of Ahmad break-down (or bye which is this week).  General Far East likes to gain momentum here before facing rival Girlz in Week 11.

Of all the upsets in Week 9, Pelican's over BDT, while discounting the rivalry aspect, was the most impressive.  Brady-B345tM0d3 tandem going for 55 pts and Seattle D regaining fantasy relevance gives moral boost to the Grishamites moving forward.  Week 10 is Brady bye, so Flacco will start in fill-in duty.  Week 10 bye is quietly hitting Pelican hard, making them scramble left to right in the waiver market like me picking beer at gas station walk-in cooler.

Another good odds if you look at their records and no further.

-Elimination
(8) HomeSpunNeckBloodz 4-5 (3 bb)vs (9) The Old Future 3-6 (10 bb)
Two franchises on the wrong side of the fence are in knock-out battle that only one can emerge out of and keep hope.  The loser, please pack your knives and go.

Week 9's near-miss of an unset over Nauts was even more bitter as Bloodz lost Foles probably for the rest of the fantasy season.  There aren't great options left at QB (Alex Smith, Kyle Orton?), which doesn't help the Spinning Wheel as they lack points to back up getting another loss.  At least they get some NFC North tools returning from bye so they don't have to rely so heavily on the Giants, but it'll take some ingenuity to get the spinning going.

Old Future really needed that W in Week 9 not just for their own sake but for the rest of the bottom of the league's hope.  Now at six losses, the timewarps are truly backed against the wall.  There's probably some mathematical possibility, but it's a long-shot now for the rookies to get to the playoffs.  Last year, a long-shot rookie made playoffs and eventually lost in the championship after some crazy outcomes dictated things in the final weeks of regular season, so keep fighting.  As for the roster, beyond Peyton there's really not much to get excited about here.  They have a serviceable QB stashed on the bench and several teams with QB needs will be calling on them this week, though they aren't likely to get as high a value as earlier in the season for Matty Ice.

Luck of draw has this evenly matched game giving another favorable odds.  Hey-hey-ho, what a week full of Lee Perries.

Week 9 Recap

Another nail-biting finish to MNF thrillers in the PSAS wrap up an exciting week that was Week 9.  Three of the top-4 upper echelon teams went down to the underdogs while TigerMountain joins the top-tier with a beat down of the Uptown Girlz.  Bottom-of-food-chain Pelican and Trichs contributed to the mess by beating the Dwellers and the Condiments respectively.  Polk High got the moral-boosting win behind Big Ben's 6 TD night in as many weeks, and we finally saw a week where the parity trend finally reversed.  On the market side, the investors were just a mere 2-pts-by-Bloodz away from being actuated a bail-out fashion 100 bankerbytez freebie payoff.  Still, with upsets abound, those who were bullish on the dogs in Week 9 all got solid returns on their investments as the market as a whole had the biggest gain of the season since Week 2.

PSAS's Weekly Fan-pick

That was fun, our new pickin's game except I picked mostly Broncos so it wasn't too fun for me.  I won't pick three from the same team again and I won't proclaim Orange Crush back again, but I could totally see that game or its variation making a come-back in the future.  The highest scoring combination was B. Roethlisberger, J. Maclin, J. Hill, and R. Gronkowski.  Our winner is Colonel Mustard, who picked two out of the four best performers (Maclin and Gronk).  While his league-leading winning streak was stripped, his drained waiver money gets a restock so he can pay for Amukamara replacement mei yo wenti.

Dijon: Luck 29.66 + Foster 18.90 + Maclin 29.80 + Gronk 16.50 = 94.86
Future: Peyton 22.32 + Foster 18.90 + Dez 7.50 + Gronk 16.50 = 65.22
Trix: Peyton 22.32 + Charles 14.80 + DT 13.70 + Julius 9.70 = 60.62
Pelican: Russel 10.26 + Lynch 26.30 + TY 13.10 + Julius 9.70 = 59.36
Nauts: Brees 17.33 + Foster 18.90 + DT 13.70 + Gronk 16.50 = 66.43
TTM: Peyton 22.32 + Antonio 21.40 + Charles 14.80 + Jimmy G 14.30 = 72.82

The Mustards collect pot plus matching funds, +33 bb.  Nice.

Stock Market
There's odds, and there's odds.  After pay-schedule restructure, the aim was to refrain from over pumping the waiver market with free money.  Week 9 results could have easily blew that policy out the window, almost handing out Benjamin Franklins left and right.  In the end, it wasn't meant to be and nothing crazy like that happened.  But just a reminder, if you don't play, you won't get paid.  And those who played, you got served.

Week 8 Recap

And then there were none, finally.  And the curse is over, finally.

In a week full of competitive matches throughout the league, Phat Girlz went down to the Old Future riding behind unlikely heroes of Knile Davis and Miami DEF while the Trix beat Ben-sanity and Polk High to lift the curse of Burt Reynolds from the Celebrity Jeopardy stock derivative.  Props to Future for starting Knile on the day he returned a kickoff for a TD and scored another on the ground, though the decision was out of necessity more than anything.  And despite the loss, Bundy was rewarded for his faith in Big Ben after two consecutive lackluster performances and almost came up with the second win of the season.  We should no longer consider Dijon a cinderella, after the Mustards held off BDT and retained firm grip of their playoffs aspiration.

And just like that, we have just come to the turning point of the 2014 season.  Things will pick up now in the race to the playoffs, just as the mega-load of bye teams start in Week 9.  Six teams will be on bye for each of the next two weeks and four teams on Week 11, just as it comes to fantasy crutch time.  Teams probably have been preparing for this for awhile with increased spending in waivers, as half of the league has less than 40 bankerbytes left in their wallet, and three have less than 25.  If you are counting on pulling off some trades to fill gaps in the lineup during bye weeks, just a friendly reminder that the PSAS trade deadline is in November 14, that's in two weeks and a change.

Screaming Target
There were some elite WR performances throughout the week while the Goliathes of that position is away.  Antonio Brown is proving he's the number one WR of 2014, amassing 13 targets by Big Ben.  Jeremy Maclin lead the league in targets with 16 and celebrated with a Gatorade shower, which meant no refund for us.  Across the pond, Stafford targeted Golden Tate 15 times to land the Nauts their much-awaited casino prize.

TigerMtn: Antonio Brown, 13 tgt
Pelican: Julio Jones, 6 tgt
Girlz: TY Hilton, 10 tgt
Trix: Sammy Watkins, 6 tgt and one early celebration
Future: Jordy Nelson, 5 tgt
Nauts: Golden Tate, 15 tgt

Nauts wins the pot including the matching funds, and gains +33.  Nice.

Like mentioned above, Celebrity Jeopardy finally hit, as Future and Trix finally managed to win on a same week.  No one bought the cursed derivative and hit big.  Investors instead focused on individual stocks.

Week 8 Stock Market & Previewz

As the week progresses, the craziness of that MNF and its aftermath is starting to settle (in).  It was a year ago from tomorrow that AEthernauts was robbed a victory by the g0dz turned the season up side down (sorry to keep bringing that up).  Must be something about Week 7.  Well that's in the rearview mirror now and we've come to Week 8.  San Francisco and NY Football Giants are on bye interestingly in the week of SF Giants World Series appearance.  Sorry SF people--go Royals--Aoki is my man, always getting pinch-run by Dyson at crutch.  (Contrary to Monique and Mrs. Al Bundy's insistence, I don't root for the Yankees nor sleep in a Derek Jeter PJ.  While I think Mo Rivera was the best pitcher I've had the pleasure to watch throw live--by far, and I frequent the Stadium to watch my countrymen play ball in this alien land, the DJ Calendar I received as a B-day gift one year went straight to recycle bin, tbt, but we digress)

More injuries, more need for cash m$n3y.  Fortuna has been favoring giants of late, as the past two week's the inflated casino prize went to Girlz and then to BDT, fattening up the fatties.  Injury bugs as well have relatively stayed away from the top tier teams while hitting the commoners and the food-stampers harshly.  Parity is double-edged sword, and with heavy loads of 6-team bye weeks returning in Week 9 team interest turnout at the bottom of the league needs to be monitored.

The Guide
-"Initiation Who's Alpha"
(1) Phat Girlz 7-0 (3 bb) vs (8) The Old Future 2-5 (10 bb)
The Rookie Timewarp face the biggest time disturbance yet, facing the Uptown Top Ranking.
Girlz emerged victorious from Week 7 showdown against the Nauts and is perfect 7-0.  Another stellar performances from the Luck, Forte et al, Monique has Colt McCoy to thank for rewarding her Flex decision to go with Garçon.  With line up full of matchup-proof performers save for maybe TE, it just looks like, knock on woods, it would take a very unfortunate event in Indianapolis to slow down these biatches.
The Futurists dropped a tough one to previously winless Pelican in Week 7, and is holding on to a straw in their rookie campaign.  Major lowball was the result of injuries to Freddie and Spill (though the worst injured one gave Oldies some points) and Chicago Blues affecting Alshon.  When no one from WR/RB/TE positions score over 3 points and Peyton is the only player in double digits, a W was a tall glass of Shock Top that they couldn't handle.  The depleted backfield's outlook is not bright with Gore on bye and T-Rich limping in Week 8, and after missing out on RB waiver-pick ups

There are many favorable odds in PSAS stock market, but this is not one of them.

-"Trying to extend it to five"
(2) BuildingDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng 6-1 (5 bb) vs (4) Dijonnaise All-Stars 5-2 (5 bb)
Could be another playoff preview with two top-tiered teams both on four-game winning streaks face each other in Week 8 showdown.
The Philosophic Ones rode on their keeper Boyz yet again for a fourth straight win in Week 7.  They've only lost to the Nauts in Week 3, who they traded parts with last week and this week.  The trades look like it gave BDT lineup a nice lift plus a counter-titration against Mustards' A-Rodg with Nelson addition.  The Dez-Jordy WR tandem is quite possibly the best in the league as Megatron-AJ duo in Polk Country is out of service.  Look for Boyz to make a MNF comeback with Romo-Dez facing Morris's Washington.

It was a statement game for the Yellow in Week 8 with six starters in double figure.  With Miller Poupon Grey have found a solid RB2 with upside.  Receiver trio of Rodney White, Mike Wallace and Kendall Wright represent this year's Dijon well; surprise performers.  Foster is their poster child, and while his health will always be the question for the rest of his career, Mustards are prepared, with handcuff Blue stashed on bench.  Colonel's resume will improve significantly if they can beat the Philosophers here.
Tough one here, gambler's choice.

-Sky vs Sea
(3) AEthernauts 5-2 (3 bb) vs (5) SanFranciscoFerries 4-3 (10 bb)
Probably the game with most playoffs implication of the week, neither teams have dropped two in a row yet this season.  It has the making to be another instant classic.
Nauts was one TD reception or a good outing from their kicker away from handing the Girlz their first loss, but the outcome showed that, at this point of the season they are slightly behind Phatties in the pecking order.  Newton had yet another quiet-for-his-potential game, while Zac Stacey's status in StL is a concern.  Nauts traded away Jordy and Ivory for Golden and McKinnon, which on the surface look like a slight dip in talent.  They still have the depth on their roster if they can keep getting the titration right.

Ferries quietly had the week's highest scoring with 136 behind Russel Wilson's 39 pts.  Frisco Kid was relieved to see Welker and Lacy get to the endzone, and Bell is one of the few workhorse back left.  Beckham Jr's breakout could compensate for Cordarrelle and Gronk struggling once he gets back from bye.  Boatmen need this one to launch away from the .500 line and get their first consecutive wins of the season.
Favorable odds for an upsetter, but do Ferries have what it takes is the question.

-Bounce Back Week Brees-Brady prezented by Shock Top
(6) TakingTigerMountain 4-3 (3 bb) vs (11) ThePelicanBrief 1-6 (10 bb)
Both teams are coming off nail-biters in Week 7.  TigerMtn is trending down while Pelican looks to move up the ladder.  A truck-load of Shock-Top will be consumed by the end of this one.
TTM's 1-point loss to Dijon marked three in a row.  It corresponds to Jimmy G's injury and NOLO bye, showcasing how much CCC means to this franchise.  The revamped backfield of Vereen and Hillman played admirably, both scoring well in the twenties.  In a way, officials robbed the Tigers of victory, as they were Antonio Brown's called-back TD / Luke Kuechly's four-tackles-if-he-wasn't-ejected away from getting back to the top tier of PSAS.  Keeper Antonio Brown is truely a WR1. Brees, while not record-setting, keeps playing at a serviceable level, but Daniel Sans can use a big game against A-Rodg's GB in SNF to secure a W and hold on to the playoffs musical chair.
Cheers!  It's a Shock Top moment for everyone when that last monkey is off the back.  While the Grishamites started celebrating early and was tipsy when MNF scare was over, it's a win nonetheless.  Wasn't pretty, as the second lowest score beat the lowest score in a match that saw only two double digit performances by the Pelican squad.  Lynch and Julio have had back-to-back duds, plus keeper Seattle DEF scoring in the negative adds to the Shock Top hangover for the Pelican.  These entities are sure to have bouncebacks, plus stashing Tre Mason a week before the breakout can be the trigger for Shock Top-like resurgence by the Grishamites.  More Shock Tops, please.
Odds favor another Pelican upset.  After one too many, I could be a buyer.

-Turkey's Nest Bowl
(7) HomeSpunNeckBloodz 4-3 (3 bb) vs (9) Shock_Pix® 2-5 (10 bb)
If and when these two faced each other eight years ago on a wee hours of Sunday morning, that was sure to be a sight to pay money to observe at Turkey's Nest spilled over to McCarren Park.  Now that we've grown a bit older and matured a bit, we use fantasy football to settle the score, much to a delight of TigerMtn.
All jokes aside, Bloodz face a match that they can't afford to drop here at crunch time.  They were lucky to escape with a win last week, and while it wasn't Reggie IDPs helped big with two double-digit performers lifting the bye-depleted offense.  Only Andre Ellington and fill-in QB Alex Smith cracked ten on the offensive side of the ball.  In Week 8 they are dealing with Giants bye, but depth is not really an issue for this squad at this point.  Getting the titration right is, and they need it here against dangerous Shock_Pix squad.
Shock's semi-auto pilot couldn't handle the aftermath of Harvin trade, and while Demaryius exploded like Heinz bottle spilling ketchup all over Waffle House plates, it didn't materialize.  DT makes this team one to monitor week in and week out after psych dog succeeded in replacing his injured backs with each of their respective/respectable handcuffs.  The still-missing one IDP is just a charm.  Harvin's upside with Geno and the Jets is a mystery, but Cutler should bounce back after Marshall rant.

I'm still short on Primordials, but another favorable odds will collect dividends for Shock from those looking for value pick for sure.

-Elimination Game
(10) Trichotillomaniacs 1-6 (5 bb) vs (12) Polk High Panthers 1-6 (5 bb)
Two struggling one-win teams play an elimination game.  The loser will pack their bags and await consolation tourney.

Trichs' truly have their back at the bank now with 6 losses, same number as they did last year when they made the playoffs as the lone 7-6 team thanks to high-scoring ways they demonstrated throughout the season.  The scoring is there again this year (fourth in the league) albeit at a lesser scale; the wins aren't.  Week 7 was destined to be a tough one since they drafted both McCoy and Martin high (both had their bye last week), but a loss is always disappointing nonetheless.  Good news is, Kaep's bye this week will mark the end of the bulk of bye season for the Far East Rulaz just at a time the rest of the league goes into heavy rotation of missing players.  The always-motivated Hairpullers could be the generator of chaos in the second half if they can find ways to win.

No team has been hit harder with injuries than Bundys that still didn't get Megatron or AJ back in losing six-straight.  They did have an almost win over Bloodz in Week 7 thanks to their AFC West (repre-zent) backfield of Charles and DMC that's looking more respectable as the season progresses.  The WR duo's return countdown has begun, and when they do, Polk High's lineup will look formidable thanks to their revamped backfield and IDPs.

At even odds, another gambler's choice.  Y'all know who I'll pick (I'm 1-6 buying Trix baby!)

Week 7 Recap

Some games are still too close to call
That was Week 7, the mid-point of the season.  Wow.  I mean.  Wow.
What a crazy week.  Six teams are still holding their breath, waiting for that dreaded Tuesday-Thursday recalculation (just ask the AEthernauts what that's like) as three matches were decided by 3 pts or less.  As it stands now, it's still the undefeated Phat Girlz at top, who will all but clinch playoffs berth with one more win.  BDT, who took care of business against Trix, are right behind at 6-1 and have the first-round bye in sight, while Nauts, who closely lost to the Girlz in the most anticipated game of the year, and Dijon, who beat TigerMtn in what turned out to be the game of the year, are comfortably in the chase at 5-2.  Three teams are bunched at 4-3, and if things go accordingly, one of these teams (TTM, SFF, Bloodz) will be left out of the big dance.  Five teams below .500 mark, all with 5 losses or more, have the remotest of chances at this point, though no team can be ruled out just yet thanks to Pelican finally cracking the Win column.  One team did make the playoffs at 7-6 last year, and as a sixth seed that team went on to become the 2013 Champion.  So all bets are still on.

The market saw little activity, but injuries keep piling up, opening up fantasy opportunities for previously unheralded FA/waiver dwellers.  We'll likely see a heavy dose of transactions with mega bye-weeks starting at Week 9 just around the corner, but some teams' waiver budget well is starting to dry up.

Yardiez
No one picked QBs that went over 300 ydz (we'll give benefit of doubt to Pelican that his comment wasn't a misspell of Luck who threw for league-leading 344 ydz in Week 7).  Matthew Stafford had the near-pin with 299 ydz while Kyle Orton, who honest to god was going to be my choice until I chickened out, had 283 ydz.  Refund candidate Peyton went over 300 and couldn't help us while Tony Romo helped the Boyz to a big pay-dirt.

Old Future: Philip Rivers 205 ydz
TTM: Jay Cutler: 190 ydz
Bloodz: Andy Dalton 126 ydz
Trix: Colin Kaepernick 263 ydz
Nauts: Tom Brady 261ydz
BDT: Tony Romo 279 ydz

BDT will collect pot, matching funds minus his bet, a nice +33.

Stock Market
I'm still hesitant to finalize this since I got the feeling outcomes may change.  But with waivers and rankingz and previewz coming up, we've got to move on so we got to start somewhere.  The curse of Celebrity Jeopardy continues, and we may never see this derivative make any money to anyone this year.

Week 7 Stock Market

Hyoo, that was something of a nothing.  Waiver wire apocalypse.  Seems it happens at least once every season, kind of a Yahoo charm.

Now.  I just want to tell you something.

I think Anita Marks of Bleacher Report is hot.  I also like ESPN's Prim Siripipat, but she's a dookie (I did my research).

I'm glad that's off my chest.  Now let's talk fantasy.  We got Phat Monique looking down at us from atop alone.  The sixth-straight win came with fireworks from start to finish, with Luck-Hilton double titration starting off the Girlz fast and furious on TNF.  Nauts and BDT are still right behind Girlz at 5-1, while TigerMtn and Dijon have playoff spot in sight with 4-2 records.  The rest of the league contests for the sixth and final spot in the big dance as things stand now.
Showdown Week

Many knock-out matches are in the lineups as teams look to line themselves up for better spot in the bell-curve as we turn the corner.  Nauts look to topple Monique's reign in this week's showdown between 1 and 2 while teams hovering at or below .500 mark are almost in early must-win mode.  Fantasy juggernaut Philadelphia and laughingstock Tampa are on bye this week.

Don't worry, I'm not bringing back the ass trends.

(1) Phat Girlz 6-0 (5 bb) vs (2) AEthernauts 5-1 (5 bb)
Arguably the most anticipated match of this year will feature the top two teams.  Plenty of interesting matchups starting from the top with Luck vs Newton, Forte vs Murray, and Cobb vs Nelson.  If Big Sky cannot stop Big Girlz here, it could be a runaway to 1st-round bye for Monique.

Coming off a monster week in which the match against Shock_Pick was essentially over as soon as it started when Luck and Hilton connected for over 150 ydz just in the first quarter of TNF en route to scoring the season's best.  Forte and Tate both with two TDs each had their best games of the season while Cobb continues to find the endzone.  Detroit sacked Teddy eight times to top it with a cherry.  The Girlz' roster is full of matchup-proofed starters save for TE and Flex positions lead by Luck-Hilton double titration that simple looks unstoppable.  Pesky Cincy defense trying to stop Indy this week is the key here (come'on Pacman).

Nauts sat Newton in favor of Eli again in Week 6 and almost paid dearly for it.  Cam regained his Superman self while the lesser Manning regained his former self in being shut out by Philly defense (time for that defense to be re-cognized).  Nelson and Murray continued to show top form with solid games of their own.  DeMarco's was especially rather impressive against Seattle, who's gold-plated defense is starting to show some peel.  Beyond Newton, Murray and Nelson, Big Sky stands a bit shaky especially following season ending injury to Cruz, which essentially robs the sky of formidable double titration option and devalues Eli significantly.  Sanders will replace Cruz at WR2, and we may see the return of two-TE set , but the key to winning this showdown is RB2 production out of either Stacy or Ivory.

Nauts get the tough end of the stick with even-odds on what's essentially an upset pick.

(3) BldgDW3LL1NGTh1nk1ng 5-1 (2 bb) vs (9) Trichotillomaniacs 1-5 (15 bb)
Trix look to spoil BDT's aspiration to climb atop while the other top teams knock each others out.

BDT came out of Week 6 with a W in a predictably tough week for Romo-Bryant Dallas express playing in Seattle.  The rest of the team didn't fare much better, with only one TD scored by a non-QB helping the Boyz barely crack triple digits.  They still get it done where it counts.  Cowboyz have a more favorable matchup playing against the Giants at home, and McKinnon's ascension to starting role can only be positive here, although the rookie has a tougher match up against Buffalo in Week 7.  A win here will put BDT on the blink of playoffs spot.

Trix exploded in Week 6 as if to let out all the frustrated energy piled up for the first five weeks.  They were one SF 4th-down TD conversion/FG away from notching both the league's highest score and coveted Toyota biggest margin, an incredible feat from a previously winless team.  JJ came out on TNF with a bang that started the TD frenzy in the Far East.  Kaep capped it off on MNF with arguably one of the best games of his career.  While Shady didn't get to the endzone, he showed glimpse of what's expected to be the real deal on SNF.  It speaks for the potential that this team has always had, but consistency has been what's truely lacking for the Hairpullers.  The bye hits the Trix hard in Week 7, with McCoy, Maclin and Martin all getting the mid-season rest.  If there's going to be an unlikely turnaround of the season in the Far East, no week is more crucial than this one.

Yet another favorable odds for the Upsetters.

-The Knock-Out Round
(4) TakingTigerMountain 4-2 (3 bb) vs (5) Dijonnaise All-Stars  4-2 (10 bb)
This match has more playoffs ramification than the match of the week, as the winner here will get a room to breath while a loss would see the team get gobbled up by the rest of playoffs outsiders.

TigerMtn is skidding a bit after dropping second in a row in a lopsided fashion to Trix in Week 6.  A win was a tall order regardless of opponent here with New Orleans on bye, so it might as well have happened against an explosion.  While fill-ins Tannehill and Cook played admirably, TigerMtn truely missed Brees-Graham connection in a match that they never really had a chance following JJ's TNF atrocity.  Sanu's breakout in Cincy in AJ's absence is a welcomed sign in a week Quick was all but shut-out in Flex-duty.  The backfield situation is not as cheeky.  As losing AP, who TTM decided to drop from the roster, is not enough, his replacement Asiata is being phased out rather quickly in Minnesota in favor of a talented rookie.  Injury bug got to Sproles, so Mountain Men will rely on Hillman and Vereen's supposedly increased load following Ridley's injury to help lift the backfield.  Ingram's return from injury can't come soon enough for the Tigers.

Colonel Mustard escaped a MNF thriller with a win thanks to a late-game pick-6 by SF defense that sealed the win for both Niners and Dijon.  It marked the third-straight for Colonel, who's proving that 2014's version of DraftBot is far more superior to its previous versions and this year's RecapBot.  Foster is proving to be worth every bit of money the bot decided to pay while keeper A-Rodg is as reliable as ever.  Greg Olsen being Cam's favorite target in Carolina covers up the lack of WR consistency.  Knowshown's knee silently buckling in the South Beach means Miller will assume starting roles both for the Fins and Mustards, which can only be good news moving forward.  TigerMtn presents a true test of legitimacy for Colonel in Week 7.

Even match with a favorable odds will see a team collect dividends.
-Shock in Cisco
(6) SanFranciscoFerries 3-3 (3 bb) vs (10) Shock_Pick® 2-4 (10 bb)
Another chance for psychedog to shock PSAS in a winnable match against SFF.

In stark contrast to last year in which the SF season essentially consisted of two long streaks, this year's Boatmen have alternated wins and losses in the first six weeks.  The good news here is that this week they are supposed to win if the pattern continues, but there are several concerns here.  First, they are coming off a season low performance at 74 pts.  Lacy's Week 5 performance is looking more like a fluke after he lowballed yet again in Week 6 in a game Green Bay was forced to throw in making its come back.  Only Russel Wilson scored a rushing or receiving TD in a game that SFF saw only three players (one is a kicker) score in double digit.  Keeper Cordarrelle and Welker are struggling at WR2, so Frisco Kids will probably turn to Odell Beckham Jr., who will move up NYG depth chart following injury to Cruz.  Boatmen need the youngsters to lift the team up in order to avoid a slip below .500.

Shockers never had a chance against Luck-lead Girlz in Week 6, but the revamped backfield flashed some promises with Oliver dancing and Williams getting the touches.  Demaryius regaining 2013 form and Cutler's continued lack of bone-headed mistakes make Primordial Ones a weekly contender.  The protest at IDB continues, but we'll just regard it as strategic allocation.

Both the odds and projection favor the Shock.  Days of playing Primordial Ones and betting against them equal free money is over.

-Spinning Bundy
(t.7)HomeSpunNeckBloodz 3-3 (3 bb) vs (11) Polk High Panthers 1-5 (10 bb)
Polk High look to turn season around here while Bloodz try to go above .500 for the first time this year.

While it wasn't pretty, Bloodz took care of business in Week 6 against SFF thanks to Gio and SSS coming through in bounceback fashion.  While not living up to the hype, Foles has been serviceable save for one disastrous game.  Depth is there for the Bloodz to manage through bye season as they are 3-4 deep at both WR and RB positions.  The exception is at QB, where Foles on bye in Week 7 will make Cyclotron active in the waiver field looking for a fill-in.  This is a match in which Bloodz need to pick up a win in order to make a serious run at the playoffs.

Bundys had no chance in Week 6 as Megatron and AJ were injured-out and Charles on bye.  The season is quickly slipping away as Polk High has lost five in a row after Week 1 win over still-win-less Pelican.  While getting Charles back from bye is a plus, both Megatron and AJ figure to be out again at a crucial juncture of the 8-win bench mark.  Charles really needs to return with top-ranking form to give Panthers' season a chance.  The good news is that the schedule starts to ease up for Bundy, with the next three opponents all sitting at or below .500.

The Upsetter chune is a tough sell here, Iman sez.

Many rivers to cross, Knowshown ...

-Feelings Hurt
(t.7) The Old Future 2-4 (3 bb) vs (12) ThePelicanBrief 0-6 (10 bb)
Search for the win continues for the Grishamites as the Rookie Oldies get in the way this week.

Future Boyz lost another close one in Week 6 and are on the outskirts looking in.  In scoring close to 120pts, Peyton was rather average for his standard but the roster saw good number of production from every phase of the game.  While TE Cameron's return to fantasy elite form was good omen, CJ Spiller's stock is quickly falling.  Knowshown's was the blown-knee that no one knew about, and judging from the past, he must have shed a bucket in South Beach.  It's crucial to get the titration right against the Pelican team desperate for their first win.  Future's two wins have come against struggling Polk High and Trix, so expect McFlies to get it done here and stay in the contention.

Pelican was quietly close to an upset win in Week 6, but the QB decision came back to bite.  Brady is all of a sudden putting up QB1 number, which adds to the fury of Pelican leaving him on the bench.  LynchM0b has come down to earth and seems to be battling some lingering back issue, which adds to the Pelican blues.  Carson Palmer's return in Arizona benefitted Fitz and should continue to do so.  They did crack 100 last week, so things look to have hit rock bottom.  With Brady's resurgence, we shall see the rise of Pelican.

It can be too enticing to pick the upset here with favorable odds.
